Gibson ES-175 vs ES-775 vs L-4 vs Gibson Tal Farlow?

I enjoyed this thread. I just bought both an ES-775 and an '88 L4CES. Both are arriving this week.

It should be fun!

I bought an ES-775 when it first came out in the early 90's, and I remember being mesmerized as I opened the case for the first time and saw it; however it turned to disappointment when I picked it up; it was a lot heavier than a ES-175. Two days later, the piece of wood on the tailpiece fell off and I had to glue it back. The tone wasn't bad at all, but I felt for the money I could have probably bought an L4 with a spruce top which sounded a bit better. So I returned it before the 30 days. It was certainly beautiful, but heavy...
