I have about as much equipment for creating that sort of music as I do for making guitar music. I think it's a blast. I have to be in the right mood, though.

It's not that I dislike all of it -- matter of fact, I had Trans-Europe Express and found it listenable and enjoyable often enough. There are other acts who have worked in that genre that, while trancier and poppier, I've enjoyed. I even played around with the style myself back when I was demoing. Of course, my take always included this rude guitar somewhere, lol. As a mood thing, it can work on occasion. But the encroachment of those technologies into the wider field seems to my ears to encourage a pursuit of digital perfection that ends up beating the life out of the music. In an odd way, it's the mistakes that I find endearing in many tunes.

Horses for courses, sure. You can't argue taste, and I sure don't want to here -- just idle observations of mine.
