Does anyone have links to some good bridges other than Stew-Mac? Not loving their model. I know there is a Loar replacement available. Anyone tried those on other guitars? I've seen Ultima mentioned in older threads but I think they're out of business. There are some cheap (~$10) options on Amazon but I doubt they're any better than the stewmac.

Hmmm, I wonder if Joe Pass looked at his guitar and scratched his head trying to figure full contact or 2-footed bridge base out. I think he just grabbed the guitar and played it, leaving this kind of question to guys like us. This is interesting discussion, and gives me something else to worry about. I think I'll try to not think about it.

I saw a video where Joe Pass arrived to play a demo of sorts and used a git already there. He was miffed that nobody tuned it for him before he got there.
Maybe he didn't give a hoot about bridges or tuning a git?
Sometimes we mortals get over involved in minutiae that great players were Waaayyyy above.

Bridge feet are under compression. Tailpieces are under tension.

He just smiled and went for it ,seeming to enjoy the unique vibrations. I was really happy to be playing my violin and not tied to conventional intonation by frets as I sweated for the next 3 hours to stay in tune with the piano.
