The Fender Mustang I has aux in, headphone out AND usb out for recording.
Doesn't fart out like the Microcube and sounds great with the Twin reverb model.
Available on Craigslist for $60-$70 and new for $110 or so.

I have heard that the $40 EHX headphone amp is good for a basic clean tone

Vox amphones are great. they have an aux in so i can practice to tracks.

Deja Vu... I STOPPED playing for 29 years because my ex had anxiety issues with me playing scales at night, then when I got a little headphone enabled practice amp the tink, tink, tink, chink of the pick on the strings was too much for her to bear.
Anyway my little Marshall CD15 (not sure of the model #) is clean. I now keep it in the trunk of my car with a 110 volt inverter to try gits advertised on Craigs list.

A bit more expensive, but I am using a Yamaha THR 10X amp as my main living room amp.
My Fender just has too much oomph. Will probably get rid of it.
The Yamaha doubles as a headphone amp. Totally portable. Sounds pretty good. At some point I will build a Bottlehead.com Tode amp just because I like all-analog circuits and the bottle head guys (and gal) are great but til I do, I am now quite happy with the Yamaha.

Just picked up a Fender Mustang II v2 used for 135. Has headphone outs. The Mustang I goes for 80 or less used. For headphone use they have the same circuits.

Scholtz Rockman.
- I guess it's a vintage headphone amp, heh.
Traynor Quarterhorse.
-headphone amp - sure, why not?
-25 watt amp - sure, why not?
-small enough to fit on a pedalboard - sure, why not?
-has some built-in effects - sure, why not?
I keep one in the car and use it as an emergency backup amp.

At some point someone always recommends a Twin Reverb, so here goes:

As a matter of fact, I am on holiday now and took my Twin, Deluxe Reverb and Bassman with me. iRig-plug, iPhone with amplitube (free Fender version) and some better earbuds (at home I use a more comfortable Sennheiser 205 headphone). My Aria Sinsonido Travel guitar sounds great thru it and my holidays are fun again! (Boy, how I hated going on holiday without guitar or with only a cheapo acoustic). I have even used it on the plane once! (Long intercontinental flight.)
Those simulations sound really, really good and the best thing is I also have IReal on my phone with 1600 standards to jam along with (amplitube and ireal play simultaniously). Who says holidays are boring?
And yes, I use it in bed next to the wife sleeping too!

Any latency on this type of setup?
