The Eminence Beta-6A is 6", Henriksen's website states OEM Beta 6.5". Eminence makes a lot of OEM speakers that are not available to the public like the infamous Eminence OEM speakers made for Polytone or the MS-12 made for Mesa Boogie in the 70's & 80's. Eminence has made some outstanding speakers which played a big part in defining the sound of some iconic amps.

Off the shelf speakers are nice, but an OEM Eminence shows a commitment to designing & delivering the Bud exactly as intended (which makes me want one even more).

Nice amp, but out of my price range. So perhaps I'll do the next best thing and buy the T-shirt. lol

I've heard great things about the 'Bud' amp...named in honor of the founder of Henricksen Amps...by his son who runs the show these days. What a tribute!

Does somebody have hands on experience with the Bud in direct comparison with the DW Mark little Jazz?

    Thanks for all your efforts.

Update. This is the best amp I've ever played through. Tonight I used it with my new upright bass (carved top and back) and just wow. It handles the full range of the bass with no issues, has an incredibly focused sound, reproduces the character of the bass and the volume is really just unbelievable. I was so happy with the guitar sound but did not anticipate it being so good for bass too with such a small speaker size.

The "Bud" I ordered arrived the other day - really cool amp! Unbelievable sound for that small a package, and the weight is about right for us old timers... In the 70s - early 80s, I was playing a 175 thru a black face Fender Vibrolux. That was a great sounding combo, and the weight wasn't a concern at that time. Prior to that, I ran thru a Bassman head into (if I remember correctly) a Sun cabinet with 6 - 10" speakers. Didn't even sound that good - I was probably under the influence of various roots and herbs...

Anyhow, I like the Bud a lot; it's tone/volume doesn't seem to be diminished at all by it's small size/speaker. It will be fine for the vast majority of the gigs I've been doing in the last few years...

The Bud will be my next amp. Bud Henriksen wanted to modernize the MiniBrute concept. He told me so. I think he succeeded. The Bud amp is the logical conclusion of the quest.

This is a very tempting piece of gear.
