Might buy off line The only response from Slightly Touched Guitars is It has Full Godin warranty. If UPS messes up delivery or Damage Gary emailed "I will handel it."Seems to be a man of few words.I had to ask for pictures and a way to hear it.He said "I could send pictures."I like this actually makes me chuckle, but then again i would be sending $$ to this company. On top the benefit of warranties has any one dealt with this company? He does paypal. No phone # unless i am missing something.

Never heard of him. Paypal's pretty safe. How good is the deal?

Natural or Blond Composer demo under 795.plus 35. Shipping.Hay he has a Piano black Jazz for about a grand you should get it then tell me how it went and next year i could get one. It would be hard sell to the wife plus i am not sure i would want to take it out.I need a tool for work the jazz seems to nice. Not sure i could afford maintenance.Your thoughts sir?
-
Dang.
I'd do it.
Wish I had a grand, but I need to save up--I'm not teaching this summer, maybe recording, just being a dad and having fun. And hemorrhaging money.
-
I've never had to deal with any manufacturer re' a warranty, but if it looks good I'd bite. Godins are top quality and built like tanks to boot. It would be nice if there's a money-back guarantee, even if you had to pay shipping.
The Composer sure seems like a good guitar. I personally like the Premiere--being thinline and a semi, it's very comfortable and feedback resistant, plus has 2 pickups. I've seen used or lightly blemished go on Ebay for as low as $800.
If you have nothing against P90's the Kingpin or Kingpin 2 are outstanding as well and even cheaper.

I've had quite a few Godin guitars and never a problem. The Composer is a great guitar, mine plays great and is extremely light.
-
Oh man hemorrhaging $$ My sympathy, empathy.I might purloin some of the college fund and hope the paid for 14 year old car keeps running.Or figure out how to put wheels on Godin.
-
Lol, I feel ya. It's self induced, I was going to do summer school and was not saving as much as I should have because I was planning on getting paid all summer... but then I decided I'd rather enjoy my summer while my kids are still small, which means now I'm carving as much as I can out of each paycheck and stashing it away, hoping it will get me through the summer...oh well. Come August I'll be poor but relaxed, hopefully

It ain't $795, but you can get a new Godin Composer from Sweetwater (which, as everyone here will tell you, is a terrific company to work with) for $1,195, but get it on a 36-month, zero-percent interest payment plan (assuming you qualify for their credit card, but it'll take you only five minutes to learn that), and then pay $33 per month for 36 months. No worries about guarantees, or companies you never heard of that way. I got my Godin from them that way, as well as several other items. Pretty much painless.

I got a response from Godin on a Q about the Composer. They said that the G string needed to be wound not plain or else problems with intonation.I wonder if half wound would work.I should not use any flats.E I suppose plain wound is same as flat?

Thanks Perdido!E

If the wound/non-wound G string is an issue you can put another bridge on the Godin's base (might take a little mod to bridge). I have a Kluson ABR-1 w/ nylon saddles I really like; I had to drill out the holes on the ABR-1 a little to fit properly on the Godin base. A Nashville style bridge also works but the holes are a too big and the bridge can move a bit, I found the drilled ABR-1 fit just right.

I play mostly Chordal All over the neck.Having been out of this for decades and never played an archtop.I have stupid Qs. So To get use to the different scales i woodshed on a few different guitars. This is my last Q on the Godin Composer. To keep intonation on it They said the string has to be wound. But i dont care for the extra sound sliding across them. Are the archtop string as pronounced as acoustic in this matter? If so i may have to look at a something else.with Flat wounds.I live a good distance from cities where you might find a trusted luthier. So changing things out i would ruin this guitar.Godinsaid they never used 1/2 flats so they did not know but were certain about Wound g string. Thanks E
