Give Rotosound Top Tape RS200s a try if you are after something other than chromes and TIs. They are less yhan half the price of TIs

Can't be bothered to read through all the posts, but I've been using TI's almost exclusively for 5 years and I've never broken a string. I used mostly Swings but have also been using the Bebops lately. Including jamming and gigs, that's at least 5,000 hours without a broken string. I do sometimes swap out the B and E for thicker gauge singles which are usually D'Addario, but sometimes I just use the stock TI's too.

i've broken several . They are fragile compared to d'addario but they stand behind them and if you follow their recommendations, they don't break and last a long time. I had a set of JS112 on my 175 for 18 months and they still sounded great.

Been using them for about 5 years now and never had any problems with them. Only once encountered a set with one of the wound strings having a flaw (a thickening), but that obviously didn't make it onto my guitars.

I just broke the high E of my TI JS113 set last night.
Broke at the tuner so I think there might be a sharp edge that I need to smooth out.
Have had a few break over the years but they are still my favourite flatwound string.
