Drum/Rhythm Machines for Guitar Practice

I have Boss looper. I've recorded 99 loops and jam tracks from all around the .net and various CDs. It has made a HUGE difference in my playing.

I think the great part of practicing with a looper is that you can lay down a complex backing track yourself and be playing back to it and soloing a minute later. At some stage early on you need to know how to comp over a melody so its hardly a blocking factor having to play your own rhythm guitar backing IMO.
