Dogal expression has a special core which is made for vibrato and bending. They are expensive though

Wow, almost double Thomastiks. Still, might be worthwhile for that "sound". I wonder how long they last ...?

No? What do you mean by stretch them?

When you restring the guitar do you prepare the strings by stretching them out?

Each string should be properly stretched - the method I use is to simply put a bit of tension on the new string (maybe around an octave lower than final pitch) and then put my fretting hand on around the third fret, holding the string down with my left hand and, in my right, taking the string around the neck pickup and lightly giving it a few tugs upward to stretch it out.

Repeat this up the fingerboard (~ 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th frets) and with each new string.

Bring the guitar up to tune, play it for a few minutes and then lightly repeat the stretching process one more time. Sometimes it helps to slowly bring the guitar up to pitch, stopping to stretch the strings a few times on the way up, instead.

The string should feel slinkier and stay in tune much better after this.
