I read about players traveling with a tele with the neck removed and placed in their suitcase. I finally took the plunge, tried it, and it worked out great.

I have a G&l Asat semi-hollow (import) with a Seth Lover plugged into a TC Electronic Combo Deluxe 65 with Sennheiser 280 Pro headphones. I was pleasantly surprised as to how well it sounded.

Taking the neck off and then back on when I arrived was easy. I was worried that it would be hard to align, but turned out to not be an issue.

Do you remove the strings when you take off the neck?

I just loosened them and used a capo to lock them to the neck. First time I ever had a use for a capo ;-)
