I’ve owned too many guitars to mention, mainly arch tops. But this H530 has a very comfortable neck. It’s not too thin, nor too thick. And at the price their currently offering for these I can’t imagine wanting a Custom Core.

You may well be right on that! The measurements on the neck don't appear that much different compared to the price difference.

I truly dig the H530 in Chestnut Sunburst. But they’re going for $3k or more. At those prices one might as well get a CC.

You and a new guitar day really woke this place up for me! We go back so, so long. I remember us spending 3 hrs on the phone a few years back, after my company let us out early for the Thanksgiving holiday. I’m glad I got to really got to know you.
I am so happy for you my good man. I remember packing up a couple of these for Fran after Patrick passed away. I remember that the neck was very full. Like ES135, 137 full. I wonder if the new ones are the same. I always thought the fuller neck made them less prone to movement during seasonal changes. And the thicker rim bindings set this guitar apart from its Gibson counterparts. I love it, and I’m happy for you 2b!
As for the photography.. put an old disposable disk camera in your hands and it won’t make a difference. The pics would still be great!
    Thanks for sharing.

They recently came out with a budget H-535. Do you suppose it's made in the U.S.? Seems unlikely to me.

Absolutely not. Probably from China. But I’m amazed that you can purchase a made in America instrument, brand new, for less than $2k.

Remember the $1800 Gibson ES175 sell off in 2016? Everything is temporary.

He seems like a cat I’d like to have a beer with. And I don’t even drink beer!

330 is an awesome concept. To this day I can’t understand why Gibson didn’t offer a more deluxe version with at least 355 or similar appointments. The closest thing was the out of reach all-rosewood Crest.

To anyone interested, I’ve only been playing this guitar acoustically. It’s got a moderately good acoustic voice as well. Not what I was expecting from such a thin bodied guitar. It’s one impressive archtop for relatively minimal $. And the neck is one of the most impressive aspects!

I had a Chestnut 555. Gorgeous finish, but the neck was a real banana lemon.

I had a 555 too. Musta been 12 years ago. But I wasn’t into thin bodied guitars at the time. But I should have kept this one. I sold it for a Kalamazoo member here. It was a very rare Heritage from the old guard. But the new ones don’t leave the factory with any issues.
