    Howdy,

Anyone here have any experience with the Mono Vertigo cases (semi-hollow). Recently acquired a nice 335 guitar and worried that the back of the headstock might rest against the inside of the case causing unnecessary tension. Also if there are any semi - hard cases like the Mono that you like, please feel free to recommend. Thanks in advance!

Check out the Reunion Blues Continental. There are many youtube vids comparing the Mono cases with Reunion Blues.

You should worry more about the bottom of the guitar. with the Mono Vertigo. I came back from a show, and was taking a sh-tload of equipment on the elevator in my building, when a family of idiots came in and the kids ran into me, causing my Parker guitar's bottom to fall smack on the elevator's floor.
Flip Scipio fixed it for $360.

Mono vertigo is the one with the big cushioned rubber boot on the bottom? Also with strap button clearance in the internal foam??

I have a Mono Vertigo bass case and it's become my favorite of all the cases I own...and that includes an almost embarassing number of hard, soft, and in-between cases from probably a dozen different manufacturers. Highly recommended

...but, I can't tell you whether the headstock of a 335 would touch the back of the Vertigo's interior. I will say that the neck support in the Vertigo is pretty tall, so none of my basses that have a tilt-back headstock/volute touch the case interior.

I have 2 Mono Sleeves, guitar and bass, and I love the protection and convenience they offer.
When I got the Les Heritage I wanted a Mono case for it and I was ready to leave the original one at the store to do with it as they please. The store guys were pretty aghast even though it would have meant another sale for them, but after trying out both Mono and Reunion Blues, I had to accept that they were right in advising against it - while the padding was there, it wasn't as snug as the original case so I can't imagine a semi-hollow would fare any better. As much as I love Mono, for Gibson style guits I'd stick to hard cases.

I've used the Mono 335 case for years. It works brilliantly imho. Strong padding, easier to balancein an upright position than a case, I'd trust it to take a fall better than the standard maroon/pink hardcase that came with the guitar, which doesn't have nearly the shock absorbing of the Mono.
