They've been out for a while now, and are pretty reasonable. The only thing I've ever heard about them is that the necks aren't the big thick necks that the (entirely) Japanese made models have. Has anyone played one or owned one that can give a bit of a review on them? They have a few that are hollow.

I've looked at them many times and almost (should have) grabbed an all Japanese Exrubato Jazz a few years ago. The JT Exrubato models have micarta fretboards, which is interesting. I have to wonder how they would stack up against an Edwards E-SA since those are foreign made but Japanese assembled or whatever. I have one and it is as good as any Gibson ES I've laid hands on which tbh isn't all that many but still, for a lot less dough.

I have a high end Tokai ES-335 style guitar which I like very much, but I love the quality of the Seventy Sevens I've owned and played. The original Exrubatos have very thick necks, I was hoping someone might have played both an original and a JT and could say if the neck dimensions were the only real difference between them.

I own a Seventy Seven exrubato Jt P90 and I have bien using it in a blues context for 6 years now.

The craftmanship is flawless on the guitars from this series. The wood is just amazingly beautiful. Electronic parts are good quality and the pickups are well balanced. They sound bright but not harsh. They are good pickups and I never felt the need to replace them with boutique pickups.

Compared to a Gibson, the sound lacks a little character to my ears, which is logical, but you can get a pretty good jazz sound by rolling down the tone and volume pots.

The neck is the most comfortable neck I have ever played on. It’s thin enough to feel comfortable but chunky enough to really feel the guitar when playing. It is also a bit larger than a Gibson neck.

I am about to have the guitar set up for Jazz and change the gauge to 012-052, so I have ordered one with humbuckers from Japan to play blues.

I nearly decided to sell it but I am not ready to spend 3000+ for a Gibson. For a little more than 1000 euros, they are good price for value. They are better options than Epiphones to me too.
