I've always thought it would be nice to have a Korina (aka Limba) instrument , but the aesthetics were lacking ( I know, silly) In my daily wanderings I came across this beauty on an estate sale. The prior owner had a large collection and his kids didn't play . ( Ironically my own situation ) . It's a 2001 USA made Hamer Korina Special Artist, with Duncan hot P90's.( ceramic ~11.76K (bridge), 9.74K (neck))
Back then Hamer still did hand carving and fitting of their necks and were small still largely custom based shop.
Ovation took them over and farmed them out overseas sadly .

It arrived yesterday , suprisingly flawless! Apparently the late owner collected but didn't play much.
Clean it is delightful for Jazz , Acoustically it has a great chime to it , predominant voice is in the upper 3 strings.
A chunky "C" Gibson style neck , great fret work. Fully shielded cavity with an aluminum back plate , and very clean wiring .
This will be my workhorse for hosting my weekly open mic, there's a natural finish version out there with '59 duncans that I've put on my watch list.
Best bang for the buck guitar I own of the 50
