How do you take videos of yourself and your guitar playing?

I'm figuring this out now: making a video of myself playing an acoustic-electric guitar, with a stronger audio signal than the camera will provide. Between Audacity and Shotcut, I'm up to speed on video and audio editing.

I think I got the problem solved. But since there are many variations, what are your methods for making a video of yourself with strong, good-sounding audio?

For home stuff, I just use my iPhone.

For gigs I record video with an old gopro, and audio with a Tascam Dr-40x. I chop up the 3 hour .wav file in OcenAudio. Before I save each cut, I hit the "normalize" button. This maximizes the gain to just below clipping on each track. Then I combine the footage with the audio in ShotCut, which has a synchronize button, matching the "good" audio with the GoPro audio.
