I've mentioned before that I used to work the door at The Jazz Standard on 27th St. One of our most beloved regulars was a guy named Jonathan Glass. He'd make a reservation maybe twice a week and we'd save him a spot front and center and he'd draw the musicians. The other five nights a week, he'd hit all the other clubs.
I have a print of one of his drawings in our kitchen -- Peter Bernstein, Larry Goldings, and Bill Stewart at the Standard -- and people ask about it, so I tell them about Jonathan. Anyway -- I've had a few of those people send me things they've found about him and I thought I'd post them here. Jonathan rules. Check him out:

I have a bunch of sketches a guy named Art Randle made of my band when I used to gig down on 6th street decorating the interior of my van that I treasure. Really sweet human being and a great artist, he was trying to get off the street at the time and was ultimately successful in doing so. I guess he recently suffered a stroke unfortunately but he has developed a pretty great reputation for his work in and around Austin and is well known among all the musicians who work down there.
