Man what a thriller! This WC is brilliant if only for this one match, I feel for Egypt thou. I think they might have been robbed with the uncalled penalty, I wanna see the replay. Nevertheless, Argentina still here, let's gooo! Just don't let Messi shoot penalties and it'll be great.

this is a clear red card in bundesliga. hitting the player above the ankle with the studs is a mandatory red per rules. you can see it clearly at 0:07. wasnt this decided by VAR? edit: i missed this: "There was no intent". intent is not a factor for this red card. the factor is risking your opponents health. being terrible at tackling doesnt protect you from being sent off.

I'm no judge of this, but can confirm that the red card has been defended as clearly justified, say, by Lothar Matthäus in a discussion I happened to overhear only yesterday. But wouldn't the same rules apply around the world, I wonder.

1st half France-Morocco never I wanted a team to lose so bad as Morocco, atrocious football, it's like their strategy from the get go was to waste time to get to penalty shootout. Not even attempting to attack. I'm waking up 4am to watch this? 2nd half is much better, great goal from Mbappe, but honestly I think he's a bit overrated. The team seemed to play more relaxed when he was subbed?

Overall I'm happy France won, buy Morocco hope not to see you soon again.
