I've used UF a lot (the nasty big press), but not for a long long time. PVA cannot be beat. We spread it with a foam roller. Your glue ups are pretty small, and I think you'd be able to get it done...

I've been well pleased with my Guild Savoy X-150. Mine is a 2003 made in Corona. A nice used one pops up now and then and they're very comfortable to play. Usually reasonable as well. Nice tone too....

Couple of notable Gibsons not playing jazz. There's many others. Scotty Moore, Steven Stills, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley to name a few. Everything old is new again at some point.
