I’ve always liked the 50s Miles for comping stuff and jacked a lot of rhythms from those groups, with red garland and wynton kelly, but I should credit djg here with pointing out the half note...
Here is my progress video after starting back on it this morning. Be warned it's fairly rough and the sound is terrible as it's just a phone video. Lots of improvement needed before Sunday....

You're not paying attention. I'm talking about the last note of the TUNE. i.e, the MELODY. You can play a descending chromatic line of chords with the final note on top resolving to the I chord.

I think that would rather have the opposite effect, making the brain and body talk even less to each other. Besides, a good (really Southern) bourbon or rye would be more appropriate in these...
I don't know if one is better than the other, but I like the extra access to higher frets on my Campellone EP.
