Could you please recommended some Swing Tunes with good melodies for a Swing Tune setlist.

I'm trying to learn some single note Swing Tunes with a good melody. (Piano will play the harmony.)

    Many thanks.

Stardust is a great tune and it's worth trying to learn the Artie Shaw solo from his famous recording , it's a beauty

    Moonglow
    Lady be good
    Honeysuckle Rose
    I found a new baby
    Midnight Sun
    After you've gone
    How high the moon
on the Sunny Side of the Street
    Its only a paper moon

are a few favourites off the top of my head

    ones I like

    Memories of you
I let a song go out of my heart
    Easy Living
I’m Beginning to See the Light
    Limehouse Blue
    My Ideal
    Stompin at the Savoy
    Rose Room
    Tea for Two
    Just One of Those Things

tbh a lot of standards in the modern repertoire were originally swing tunes… check out original recordings

Check out Duke Robillard - he does a lot of swing stuff. Also, find the Herb Ellis album "Texas Swings" - a few good ones there. A lot of the older steel players (straight and pedal) did a lot of old swing tunes - "Panhandle Rag", Redskin Rag" are fun. Also look up the group Hot Club of Cowtown - great bunch of swing tunes.

Having a good melody, or at least a catchy riff, was a requirement back then. Pretty much any tune that was even moderately popular back then will probably do. Those without a complicated melody, just great riffs, can go over well.

The Benny Goodman Trio is a good place to start. Swing band giants in a small group.
