    For those who don't recognize the name Jimmy Webb, he was a great songwriter. Among his best-known works are "Wichita Lineman," "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "MacArthur Park," "Up, Up and Away" "Galveston," and "Didn't We."

    It's ok I guess.

    Now, Pleasant Valley, or Daydream, or Valeri...those tunes are brilliant.

    Gotta say, compare that with "The moon is a harsh mistress" and I have to say "C'mon Jimmy. Talk to me again when you're sober tomorrow"

    I never knew Jimmy Webb wrote that. They used a lot of pro songwriters to write their songs. They gave Harry Nilsson his first break by recording one of his songs, and he was able to quit his day gig at a bank.

    I don't know that one, but this one, a Charles Earland arrangement of Denise Williams tune has been my band's closing tune for many years.
