I love this tune. I used to accompany a friend on clarinet on it before he passed away. The Duke Robillard version that the OP links to is really nice.
Here’s my attempt on solo guitar. I’ve been doing a lot more gardening than practicing lately, so it’s rough. I’ll try to work on finger mechanics and clean it up.
It's been awhile since i last logged in here, but there's a strange synchronicity in that i was just playing
'If I Had You' a couple of days ago, and here it is as this month's standard...
and so, off to the shed i will head, since there are still a few days left in the month!!!
In any case, here's a quick 'baseline' recording, playing the melody and changes from memory, and
without the benefit of my 2nd cup of am coffee:
Hopefully it will get a little better...

Jonathan Doyle has been based out of Port Townsend, WA for probably 5 years or more now. He's such a great guy, and a great musician. Hopefully there'll be some video, but we'll see. I would love to...

To crossover threads a bit, as part of my summer of rhythm guitar I've decided to bash out some Freddie Green chords for Donna Lee for anyone to use as a backing (if they choose, no obligation) Swing...

I mean it's all about what you like but I used to like 25.5 scale also. "Because it's easier to fit my fingers up high" was also my excuse. But 3/4" over the course of 21 or 22 frets means how much...
I play a 24.75" scale archtop as my main "jazz guitar," but there is absolutely something special about a 17" body and a long scale.
Should also mention that on my frame my 575 looks like a Les...
