Here's mine. As usual, I didn't know this one before. I wasn't going to post, but I listened to it today and I didn't hate it as much as I did last nite. And hopefully I'll continue with it during the month and improve.
Oh, that was better, sounds more thought-out. Familiarity with the tune helps, of course. No one's that good the first time. The blues sounds were good, suits the tune, I think.
Out of curiosity, what were the Garrison Fewell tips you were using, roughly? Not that I want to copy them or anything but for interest's sake.
It's one of the study threads in the Improvisation forum. It's to do with triads w/extensions to create lines. It's something I've been interested in for awhile now, but never found anything I seemed to "get". His book "A Melodic Approach" looked good and has really made sense to me so far.
I own two guitars. A Mule steel tricone and 1959 Rodebald Hoyer “Samba” acoustic archtop. These are the two best playing and sounding guitars I have ever owned. My keepers.
I've owned a few over 60 years of playing! 21 amplifiers and 15 guitars- surprisingly small list of guitars, I tended to find the ones I wanted to play, and then keep them until I wasn't using them...
I use my acoustic Mule steel tricone for everything I play, including jazz. A nice sounding acoustic tricone is hard to beat the sound of to my ears. If I wasn’t to add a little something different,...
to me GC is a corporate idea that did not include low pay employees who thought working there would be cool,
and found out it was not.
My most recent trip to GC was to obtain an Ibanez super...
Well I searched and it said pleks don't round the fret ends so I would say try to find a good luthier. But you said there are only 2 in your area, the suck guy and an ok guy, so I understand your...
Nice one AllenAllen. Duo gigs next for you :highly_amused::smile-new:
We'll get a full set if I do improv but am actually looking forward to the solo set more. I love the freedom.
I had a very rare 1 off sweet 16 pleked by J Wolfe. It came out great and after it shipped from fla to ca all I did was adjust the action hight and it plays perfectly. At about the same time I had a...
A rough estimate on the guitars results in about 100, I still have 10 of them. I am not so sure about the amps. I guess about 20-30 and still have 2. Not counting the mandoline, banjo, bass, and ukes
I've owned over 100 guitars easily since the late 70's, no idea how many. Far fewer amps though, maybe a 15? Right now I have 17 guitars, 2 bases, and 5 amps.
Yes, and I've owned one. Violins, that is, not its maker. Where do you think I got my ideas about current makers not being incapable to match the products of the old makers?
He doesn't have a CNC,...
I need to make a video on basic chord melody.
What the others said. You don't need a book. All you do is take the melody on top and insert the interval (or chord inversion) below that fits...
I wouldn't assume am unlevel board is reason the refret job turned out badly, and I definitely wouldn't assume a Plek machine is necessary to check a fingerboard for levelness and fix it. And even...
