I recently purchased this from a JGF member and find it a wonderful instrument at an absurdly reasonable price. My go to instrument is a 7 string custom 17” jazz box and my thought was to find something a bit more ergonomic for longer playing sessions. The Jazz Elite is perfect in this regard: only 5.6 lbs, 2.25 body depth, 1.75 nut, 25.0 scale, fully carved maple with spruce, loud acoustically. But although it is in the ballpark, it doesn’t sound quite as good as a full sized jazz box (duh!) and I miss the 7th string. So I am offering it for exactly what I bought it for: $1600, your shipping. You can read much more about this model on Lou’s website, Guitars ’n Jazz, he designed it with Eastman. Why is it so inexpensive? Apparently the previous owner took shipment on it during a winter cold snap and there is some finish checking on the face. It is difficult to see in the photos but in various lights you can see it. The back is unscathed. I researched it before buying and apparently it does not compromise the structure or sound in any way - many older guitars have this, and it can also be cosmetically improved with the addition of more finish. To me it is of little consequence except that it necessitates this lower price.
My Hiscox case has been through a lot. The first boo-boo it had was that outside shell got about a 12" crack in it. I was kind of upset about it but someone I was on tour with set me straight. He...
OP you are describing a JBL D/K series tone. Big money but worth it IMO especially if you aren't going to beat them. Sparkle, crisp response, and loud. Damn loud.. The notes seem to jump out of the...
There isn't any interest in buying this guitar, so I've put this stunning guitar on Ebay for £500.

I'm not affiliated with Jensen but have used their guitar speakers for my Toob cabs almost exclusively. Two recommendations: N10/100 TR (i.e. Tornado Neo) and P10/40BB (40W Blackbird AlNiCo). The...
People do perceive the b9 as highly dissonant. OTOH it is more diatonic that b9 (for E7 it's F in the key of C, so within the C major scale.)
b9 is typical for an applied or secondary dominant...
If you are comping, think of the melody. Best to keep it simple if in doubt. Soloists need space.
If you are soloing - you have a lot of freedom. E13 type sounds are not actually unusual.

Just thought I try and clear a few thing up, as far as I know, and I’m obviously happy to change my mind. This is what I’ve discovered.
A lot of people have messaged me saying the guitar isn’t a...
