I’m currently working with this luthier in PA, and he has been a pleasure to do business with. He has started making archtops and I just wanted to share his information as his prices are great for completely solid wood guitars (archtops are starting at 4k, but i’m sure that will go up as he gets more notoriety).
He’s been very open to customization, and I’m about to commission a 14” archtop with
-Solid spruce top, cut thinner for better acoustic response
-curly maple back and sides
-rosewood binding
-ebony board
-Customized inlays
-X bracing
-Customized f holes

I enjoyed all of this video, Thank You Andy.
I think they all sounded very good. To Andy's credit. There is a difference when heavy strings are used vs. the lightweight strings. Big diff.
And...
I've gone through deep dives in music genres over the years, as a listener, and as a player (albeit a pretty crappy one) Change is in my DNA. Go hot and heavy until I'm sick of it and move on. All...
