I’m currently working with this luthier in PA, and he has been a pleasure to do business with. He has started making archtops and I just wanted to share his information as his prices are great for completely solid wood guitars (archtops are starting at 4k, but i’m sure that will go up as he gets more notoriety).
He’s been very open to customization, and I’m about to commission a 14” archtop with
-Solid spruce top, cut thinner for better acoustic response
-curly maple back and sides
-rosewood binding
-ebony board
-Customized inlays
-X bracing
-Customized f holes
if the luthiers polishing compounds fail , then a light overspray and subsequent buff out is in order.
Make certain the surface has NO residue from the buffing compounds.

This is not for a guitar that has a regular round soundhole I presume?
I've noticed several acclaimed classical guitarists use a soundhole tuner lately, barely visible from the audience. I'm...
Which he says just after he rips a more epic chorus on Donna Lee than any mortal man had heard before. At least I think that’s what happens, it’s been twenty years.
