I’m currently working with this luthier in PA, and he has been a pleasure to do business with. He has started making archtops and I just wanted to share his information as his prices are great for completely solid wood guitars (archtops are starting at 4k, but i’m sure that will go up as he gets more notoriety).
He’s been very open to customization, and I’m about to commission a 14” archtop with
-Solid spruce top, cut thinner for better acoustic response
-curly maple back and sides
-rosewood binding
-ebony board
-Customized inlays
-X bracing
-Customized f holes

^ How do you like the song? I thought it was one of those tunes with a narrative but boring melody and uninteresting chords too. But then I ended up liking it after learning it and spending time...
I’ve been researching Style A/A-1s recently and had some questions. Currently, there are 7 Style A and A-s available for sale on Reverb and through various dealers. They’re from 1938-1940 and range ...
How close they are is an interesting question. I'll grab a few measurements from one of the three CES-style Campellones (w/P-90s, below) and a 2016 CES-style Heritage (Florentine, below) in the...
