1949 Gibson ES-5 prototype price drop

up for sale is a 1949 gibson es-5. it is one of the 12 prototypes made in june of 1949. serial number a-3335. these are extremely rare, of course....it is 100% gig ready with a new fret job (.085x.050 jescar fretwire) by glasser guitars in nashville. it is in mostly original condition with no finish work or overspray. the crack by the jack is just in the top ply of the three ply laminate and has been that way and stable for the 12 years i have owned the guitar. there are no other cracks....the pictures tell the story. the follow are parts that have been replaced: the tuners are 1968 klusons that were brand new when installed and work perfectly; the bridge pickup has been replaced with a 1951 gibson p90; the strap pin is non-original; the bridge is early 50's; the saddle is a newer rosewood replacement. the bridge pickup spacer is replaced with a period correct (pre-plastic) one in amazing condition. there are "lindy fralin pickup spacers under all three pickup covers. these are easily removed, but improve the sound of the pickups greatly....there is a strap pin added at the neck joint on the lower side....included is a beautiful cedar creek case in nice condition... additional photos are available upon request.......price to sell....7500.00
