1984 Ibanez FG-100 (Price Lowered)

This is my Ibanez FG-100 for sale. In the early 80's Ibanez approached Joe Pass and offered to make him a signature model, Joe gave them his beloved D'Aquisto Excel. Ibanez took every measurement and used it as a platform to create the Joe Pass model, and the FG100, and years later on the AF200 etc... The guitar has a laminated birdseye maple top and back, a maple neck, and a rosewood fretboard with ivory binding. This one has been upgraded with a custom made ebony (D'Aquisto style) tailpiece and ebony knobs made by Luthier Stephen Holst. The rosewood bridge has been upgraded to an Ibanez TOM bridge that matches the guitar's radius. All upgrades are reversible and original tailpiece, knobs, and bridge are included with the sale. The guitar was refretted over a year ago with the original medium-jumbo nickel frets and a new bone nut, and the job is flawless. The trussrod works perfectly, and the guitar has aged well for a 40 year old instrument, with a nice yellow patina. The guitar is resonant, even unplugged, and stays in perfect intonation since the new bridge was installed 2 years ago. There's a small tiny crack piece on the side of the headstock that chipped away, and a small binding repair on the lower bout (included in pics) This model is a true workhorse and has stood the test of time, with a beautiful fat, girthy, clear tone. In my humble opinion, the tone resembles more of a Metheny tone than any of the Metheny models I've played/owned.
