Google Pay, or GPay, is incorporated into Google Wallet. I use it when I can, rather than an actual credit card. The actual credit card number isn't used, but a faked number instead, so swipers and others trying to get card info can't get it. Google Wallet is alive and well, and being used in more places all the time. I think it's a great idea. Apple Pay is similar, AFAIK, although I've never used it. I have multiple credit cards in my wallet, and can choose which one I want to use at the time, if not the default. It also keeps store/company loyalty cards and covid-19 vax status, if you want to add them.
