En bref, the question is in the title I guess. How many members work strictly offline and what are the drawbacks - if any?
Thanks.

Why would you need to be online to use DAW?

Apparently it’s a thing now.
10 Best Free DAW Online [Browser-Based][2021]

Very interesting. "10 best", but doesn't rank them or have any downsides listed for any of them.
How dishonest. There are downsides to everything, especially in the software business.
So, what's the catch? Nothing is "free".
-
The question is, "what are the advantages of being online?", not "what are the disadvantages of being offline?". Online is what's new/different, not the other way around.
For starters:
- If these are in the cloud, are response times an issue?
- Is the user expected/required to upgrade to a paid version?
- What about upgrades/improvements? Are they made often enough? Are they made too frequently?
- Are these packages buggy? (Of course they are). Which ones are worse?
- What are the downtimes? Are they available 24x365?
- Can one stay logged on all day?
- How about customer support?
- How about training and help?
- Do they compete with SoundCloud or Youtube, or are they strictly DAWs?
- What type of files do they produce?
Why not compare the features and stability to Cubase and Pro Tools?
How do the software developers - or anyone - get paid/reimbursed?
Who builds these? Who is behind them?

I spend a lot of time looking at music recording videos on youtube, I've never heard any mention of those DAWs listed in the article of post 3 of this thread.
-
So much product registration, authorization, updates etc are online nowadays, I'm not sure how you could function easily offline.
-
The last time I looked, Pro Tools had an online version but it was far from free.
In other words, online is one thing but free is another.
There has to be a catch somewhere.
