I haven’t seen The Tonight Show in years…used to watch it religiously with my dad. I’m sure SCO was great, as always.

The old Tonight Show with Johnny Carson featured many, many great musicians. Buddy Rich was famous for his drum offs with Ed Shaunessy, and there’s this well-known and still (IMHO) incredible clip of John McLaughlin playing Cherokee with the band.

Man I miss Johnny. Watching him as a teen was like getting an adult card to do adult stuff, like drink cocktails, smoke cigarettes, listen to cool music and flirt with beautiful girls.
