Without a doubt, despite having little audible guitar, my own fave is Manhattan Transfer's "The Christmas Album."

Everything from snuggle by the fireplace with snow falling to jubilant Christmas swinging. When I put it on entertaining any non-music-scene guests, they all exclaim: What is that??!!

    I have a few favorites:

For nostalgia's sake: Nat King Cole - The Magic of Christmas, The Frank Sinatra Christmas Collection, The Ventures Christmas Album

For pure musical jazz excellence: Wynton Marsalis - Crescent City Christmas Card

For more folk-pop ambiance: Sting - If on a Winter's Night, The Chieftains - The Bells of Dublin

There are others I will probably remember later.

I don’t listen to records anymore, just playlists from various artists. Sometimes I follow other people’s playlists, sometimes I make my own by skipping around and also taking algorithmic suggestions.

My Christmas listening was divided between a number of traditional symphonic and choral pieces, and a bit of Vince Guaraldi, Bing Crosby, etc.

My choice, too! Growing up hearing Vince Guaraldi’s piano every Christmas acclimated me well to jazz before I had any music taste. But I only realized that decades later.

And though not Christmas, Sesame Street put the R&B funk in me during those same years as Charlie Brown.

Kinda like a cool/hip “Mozart Effect.”
