    ...the Coleman Hawkins/Milt Jackson album "Bean Bag"? I've looked everywhere and can't find out who the guitar player is. My best guess is Herb Ellis but I'm not certain. Anyone out there know the answer to this? Outstanding album, BTW.

    Yes, Coleman Hawkins was nicknamed Bean (due to the shape of his head, apparently) while Milt Jackson was known as Bags (due to bags under his eyes, apparently). So they both have various albums with titles involving beans, bags, etc.

    Confusingly, I have a Coleman Hawkins LP called ‘Back in Bean’s Bag’ which doesn’t have Milt Jackson on it.
