Super cool video, and fairly brief - wow PG just kills it...that outro is killer:
There are some longer excerpts which can be found easily from the above link.

No one says they can't play the guitar but it's got bugger all to do with Wes Montgomery. I think it's called using someone's name. Did they have to play Wes Montgomery tunes or just anything?
And who are these clowns putting electric jazz guitars through microphones? It's supposed to be a prestigious jazz event.
Sorry, my antenna's good and there's just something about it that doesn't sit quite right with me. Perhaps it's the competitive element and the sponsorship deals. Commercialism hasn't much to do with artistry. Or shouldn't have.

good suits!...i dig the red! points off for the green tie tho...
j mascis doing stage tech?
levity!
nothin to do with wes..tho he'd be polite dealin with them

Maybe if we knew more about the "Wes Montgomery Guitar Competition" back story, this thread and the talented guitarists in the video would be a bit more appreciated.
Guitar Competition | Wes Montgomery
The 1st Wes Montgomery International Guitar Competition

I don't get the harsh criticism. They are young up coming players, they probably will be first to admit they are not at Wes level just yet.
Plus, I know Michael Valeanu personally, he's a super cool cat and a great player!
-
Good to see Dan Wilson up there, killing it as always. One of my favorite young players.
Not sure why they didn't plug these guys in though.
-
No one sounded like Wes but maybe that is good. I find guitar competitions like competitions on preaching.................let us no go anywhere near them.
-
Is that how they decided the final? The one who sounds loudest unplugged?
-
SO...to make a good impression, just remember to bring your Selmer/Mac guitar along. It'll leave everyone else in the rubble if they're mic'-ing the guitars.
-
I think they should all be playing with their thumb :-)
-
If I could only play... Ah, never mind. It'll never happen.
