"You also worked with Oscar Peterson.

    Yes, in 1955"

61 yrs ago and KB's still going strong.
think about that for a minute!

Oscar Peterson is a supremely talented and very generous ensemble player. His comping is in-comp-arable (sorry). When he's soloing, listen to the jaw-dropping riffs and runs with the right hand--always in perfect rhythm!--and then focus on what he's doing with his left hand at the same time.

It's hard to believe it's humanly possible.

There is a quote about OP somewhere in the Johnny Smith bio about how player's personalities come through: "Oscar Peterson doesn't like to lose at tiddlywinks."

Funny thing about KB is even when he is burning he still sounds relaxed and completely in control. His playing never sounds like he's on the limit of his technique, and he always maintains the swinging feel, regardless of the tempo.
