Hey, Ray Charles stole that bass-line for Hit the Road, Jack! :numbness:
It's a gypsy jazz guitar with Argentine steel strings. I just always play this guitar, it would sound better on something else probably. I'm just too lazy to pick anything else up.
Nylon string guitar, yes? I've never seen a pick-up like that before but I'm not a gear person so for all I know, it may be commonplace.
I haven't quite figured out the Zoom recorder settings, it's plugged directly into the amp (headphone jack). I tripped over the 7#9 chord but fortunately didn't hurt myself. :smile-new:
Well, yes, but I had common lead sheets in mind, i.e., only melody and chord symbols.
My contribution to this group. Let's keep it up! https://youtu.be/d27IXqaz378

You use some other representation, e.g., figured bass or tablature or (gasp!) music notation. The granularity of "chord symbols" is limited.
But what to name it if you (a) double the 5th an octave higher or (b) invert that voicing? For example: (a) G-D-D(8va) or (b) D-D(8va)-G. Debussy liked that inverted chord, used it in pieces such...
Munisteri's rhythm playing in that Ear Regulars video reminds me of John Pizzarelli's (especially in timbre) and Steve Jordan's, at least on the Ruby Braff's All-Stars album (aka Braff!), where you...
Thanks for mentioning radio garden. Being of canadian decent I checked out the edges of humanity up there. In thompson manitoba they have bingo going on their lone fm station. In yellowknife...
It might be worth contacting the owner of Guitars 'n Jazz. Also Doc Dosco although he seems to be somewhat inactive here.
"Power chords" are properly played as the root and the fifth, two strings, two notes, so not really chords. :smile-new: At some point people started saying that "root fifth root" were power chords,...
Yes, my Guild Savoy has a deep Venetian cut in all laminate of course.
Sweet! And no matter how hard he strums I still can't hear him!
