As a rule, the harder the material the brighter the sound. So everything else being equal... steel will be brighter.
To elaborate … he’s asking how to conceptualize or handle that section of the tune. It doesn’t matter what chords go there in whichever variation, because it’s “we’re getting back to One.”
I agree. That's why I work jazz bluez and a handful of easy tunes constantly so I can work up all the different topics. Then I have deeper rep on the horizon.
I am pretty happy with this, once I got over the listing photos I am not concerned about non-originality. That helps keep it a keeper. I'm more concerned about my GAS this year. I have not...
I think I understand what you're asking, but it would help to write out the exact changes you're considering, because the tune is played in different ways. If you're looking at Bb7 / Eb(major...
Yeah, good point, banjos would certainly have had hide heads, not sure if that affects the volume. I mean everything’s got a bit louder, horns… Selmer mk6 compared to the old Balanced action horns for...

I had a 1938 L-10. It was a rare find and started by removing any urge I had to have an L-5. That bird in the hand completely de-mystified the L-5 hunger for me. As I became a better player, I bonded...
I have played many L7's that were sound wise better than typical L5's. You really have to judge each guitar and its specs individually. 1930'S L5 usually do not ever disappoint. But neither do L7's....
I don't know how to go about learning jazz anymore
