Anyone know how to correctly play "the Pat Metheny lick?" You know the lick I'm talking about right? Is there a good explanation of it anywhere on these internets?

First post in this forum and starting with a riddle...
There’s a blog by Dirk talking about 10 PM licks.

5ths on the inner strings, pick 4th string, then third, slide down lick?

Definitely the kind of thing I was thinking of. Pat messes with these kind of things a lot, he can do all sorts of variations.

The first thing that comes to my mind is the descending third thing he often does.

The end of Minor Lick 1 here:

If there is "a lick" it is probably here?

The classic Pat Metheny Lick, muted arpeggiated 7th chords...

This is the classic metheny arpeggio lick demostrated with alternate picking the way Pat does and also demonstrated with hybrid picking.

These are arpeggios 3-7-3-1 with the last note in each sequence a muted hammer-on from nowhere. He slightly mutes the lower strings which give it an almost ghosted note sound.
