The U shaped crosspicking thing is very cool, but also quite challenging for me to get. Have you had any success with it, and what advice would you give?
I have had a little more time to practice due to an injury. I started practicing the U shape picking with the metronome on 72 bpm, playing the major scale and various arpeggios in 16th notes.

This U-Shaped picking is a no-go and would take many months to learn.

I am doomed to a life of picking such that I use as little tip as possible, so I can power through the strings.
