    Hi All,

Wondering if you can help me out. I have an Ibanez pre-lawsuit Johnny Smith Guitar.
I'm looking for a gig bag and tried the Mono M80 Jumbo Acoustic bag. Body size works but
it is about 1 inch to short for the total body length.

Can anyone suggest a gig bag that is a bit longer and that would fit it. It has a 17" body.

I am hoping to keep the cost under $300.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

All the best and thanks in advance,

    Chaim

Thanks for the suggestions. I will check them out.

The RB was actually my first choice but the internal length is only 42".

I will definitely check out the other companies.

Thank you for taking the time to help me out. It's much appreciated.

Blue Heron has the only dedicated 17” 12 string gig bag I ever saw. It seems to have the extra length you need, assuming the body of your guitar is the same size as a JS.

The top-of-the-line Ritter super jumbo bag is 1130mm long inside, 43.82":

Ritter Bern Super Jumbo Guitar ANT – Thomann United States

I have the predecessor for my Loar and it's got all the space it needs and then some (but thanks to the very thick padding it doesn't float around).

Note that Ritter admitted that they take their measurements on one of the 1st production models, and that there can be considerable variation in the internal dimensions due to the manufacturing process. Lengthwise I think 1" can easily fall in those margins!

According to their website, the Blue Heron 12 string bag is 45" inside.

Would an acoustic bass bag fit the bill?

I have been trying acoustic gig bags without luck. The mono 80 jumbo was close but they tend to be too short in overall body length.

    Thanks so much.

Can you state how long you need?

    Hi Woody Sound,

The length is 43.5". I am looking for about a 45-46" internal length. I had gotten the Mono Jumbo Acoustic which has an internal length of 44" but
because of the pads on the bottom of the case it takes away from the overall length and just put a bit too much pressure on the headstock so I had to return it.

Thanks for helping out with this. Any input is appreciated.

I’m away from home computer, but check out the Gator GoPro bags. I have two of them and they are awesome. The acoustic is listed as a 16” bag, but that’s for a deep dreadnaught. I’ll bet the slimmer archtop would fit.

Thanks . I'm going to take a look at the Gator Bag.

    Much appreciated.

This is an Acoustic Bass bag I have. I store my Fender Jazz Bass in it.
    It's 48" long, 18.5" max width and 6 3/4" max depth. Longer Gig Bag-20240413_133810-jpg

    Hi Garybaldy,

Thanks so much. I'll definitely look at it. I think at this point I
am leaning towards the chronkite gig bag since I get 25% off on my
    first purchase.

    All the best,

    Chaim
