Setting humbucker input level on Boss multi effects

Godin 5th Ave with humbuckers plugged into Boss GX-100 multi effects: When setting up the input settings on the GX-100, the Godin humbuckers require a setting of +16db in order to get the suggested level.

Is this a "normal" setting for humbuckers? Or for the Godin humbuckers?

Did changing the input setting, in the boss, to guitar, not work?

Does the guitar sound lackluster when plugged into an amp?

Do you have to turn up the amp volume higher the you would expect and increase the noise floor?

I can not really answer the direct question… but it does not sound right.

It sounds like you have to dime the input volume to get a healthy level. In my mind, that would be odd.

HBs and SCs should respond about the same into the boss. If anything I would expect HB on average to be a little hotter , but there is a huge range and so many variables: magnet type, wire type, and wire turns.

I would assume that Godin HBs are typical.

Also remember to swap out cables. Sometimes cables go bad and can have a direct effect.
