Never played. Sat in a case for 13 years. Collector owned.
Looks like brand new. Plays and sounds like creamy butter.
Smoking deal from GC …..go figure.

Holy cr@p, Batman! That's amazing....and beautiful!

Beautiful Vinny these Super 400s are just wonderful. I consider them the built-in equivalent of a D'angelico.........they don't get better just different. My 2005 could be a twin sister almost same wood on the back. Gibson was smart they made sure these finally had flame and QC up to the best. Frankly I consider this some of the best work Gibson has done. Many want to go back 50-60 years but it reminds me of an analogy I like to use since it is Sunday. Like the Road To Emmaus .............right in our midst today this is the guitar we don't need to go backwards to find the best.

Awesome guitar-the only problem is when you walk into a jazz club with one of those, there's going to be some expectations! Ha Ha!

Hey bro, the king of guitars never looked so good.
Your new guitar looks like it was kept in brand new condition. And will stay that way in your possession. And you will play it. That’s the thing.. I love when a guitar like that one is treated like a masterpiece. It should be.
I happen to like the mother of Pearl truss rod cover.

Absolutely incredible. Gibson at its best. What a find!

Wow - that's spectacular Vinny ! There are many case queens trickling out of private collections - you just need to spot them and pull the trigger quickly......which you did.
A big congrats...... and a great deal in today's market.

Beautiful Guitar!

I do NOT understand collectors. That is, I understand intellectually, but buying a beautiful guitar and locking it in its case and never playing it for thirteen years is just … wrong.

Twins : Bertha and Millie. I named the new one Millie after my Mom.
It landed on her birthday. A present from her from Heaven.

I am definitely not a collector and have only one of this type of instrument and have no desire (or spare cash) to acquire more.
So, wile I personally agree with the quoted sentiment, I can see another side to it.

See, never say never. You simply never know what you’ll find at GC! Nice pickup V!
-
The 02 has hotter pickups and the 09 has the 57 classics.
The 02 has a brighter sound. The Hutch era had thinner tops where Culbertson era are thicker.
Most prefer the Hutch era but I prefer Culbertson.
IMO the Crimson era was the top of the game for Gibson unless you want to go back 60 years.
