Acoustic players sometimes use a notch filter which may work for certain frequencies.

Mine is the Empress Para-EQ, but I am not sure if these are made anymore.

I have one of those, too, but I don't use it. I would like to sell it if anyone reading is interested. They are nice and can do a lot more than just dial out feedback. The one that I am using is a Rocktron Guitar Silencer. Works great for me.
