Everybody here should know that all of those burns from the rough carve will not be part of the finished guitar (they will be sanded off at some later point). That is some amazing wood for sure. This is going to be a rare and beautiful guitar. And perhaps the only Campellone Cameo ever with a built in pickup?
-
Not mine Marco. I have a 2 year wait.

That wood is just ridiculous!

30 Campellone’s must be made 1st. Mark doesn’t give cuts in line.
Not even to his JG forum PR guy.

well it's all relative, and I'm not complaining. For all I know the L5CES is heavier than the Legrand also. There would be a number of plausible reasons why, if so.
-
The Gibson L5 I sold was a rare one off custom that was carved like an rarly 50s L5 acoustic and had a thinner top and a thinner back and it was light and really the difference in weight between the Citation and the L5 was not noticeable
I like my archtops To be fully acoustic I’m not fond of set pick up guitars although I do have an 1939 L5P with a Charlie Christian and a P90 in it
-
I wonder if the Citation specs varied over the years, beyond the obvious inlay material. In other words, did their weight ever vary across the years? Mine's a bit heavy. Maybe that's for durability or something, which seems like a decent idea.
Boy are we off topic now. Back to a Happy Future NGD for Vinny!

Sure is pretty though.

looks like the average weight of a citation is 2436 lbs. i really hope the newer ones are lighter.
-
just between us, i'm not always the biggest fan of quilted maple, but when it works, it really works. and i love this because it has the wiggles all across it. i love wiggles. i'm not sure what the treeological term is for that, but you know. excited to check back in two year's time.
-
Sorry for the thread drift, but these two differ in weight by 270 g (0.6 lb). The Benedetto designed version is lighter, but it has a 13 mm (1/2") shallower body.

Vinnie and I agree on one thing and that is that the Campellone guitars will someday be as cherished as a D’Acquisto or a D’Angelico
