That's right! Vinny, my 16" deluxe version has a built in humbucker and it's acoustic tone is simply amazing. I've never heard an L4 approach that richness and articulation of tone. I don't know how, but Mark seems to squeeze the most sweet acoustic sound out of wood!

I’m opting for a thinline for more comfort, which has become more of a priority over the years.
And that VV floater was the BOMB.

There are some very lucky people in a seriously elevated state of anticipation looking at this right now! I expect every one of these guitars are amazing. But that Cameo wins the beauty contest! Wow!

That Gibson project really came out sweet. It will have every Gibson expert scratching their head on what model it is.
A JS/L5/L7 hybrid. Gibson should make that model.

They'd need to add MC to the label too!
HT, that is one awesome guitar! Congratulations!

The pictorial of its build is pretty awesome too.
Hammer Mark built you a masterpiece.
It will play better then it did originally also.
    And that back…..WOW.

JS/L5/L7P/Campellone - the neck joint is pure Campellone. There is a Campellone label next to the original Gibson label, with a date and "L-7 rebuild" on it - credit where credit is due.

    A little something about Vinny.
He is the best friend a person could have. He is so unbelievably selfless its almost surreal.
He does everything for his friends and family yet asks for nothing, ever in return.
He made sure he posted the finished photos of the guitars his buddy just built for 6 OTHER people. Yet he has a beautiful new amp sitting at home that he IS REALLY excited about. And no post about that.
Vinny you really are one in a million. Glad you are my bro. God bless you.
And oh yeah, These are Nice guitars. That Cameo… I hope there is another one coming up in a build schedule very, very soon.

(Ps.. he is gonna get pissed at me for this, but I don’t care..)

Mark’s guitars are brighter and lighter then a modern L5 Wes.
Mark uses a thinner fret wire than a modern Gibson that adds a little more brightness but also gives more sustain than a Gibson.
Mark’s fretwork is the best I have ever seen. He uses a medium/medium fret wire. I think Dunlop. He may chime in with the exact wire but all I can say is it’s perfect and plays better then my L5.
    Dunlop #6150 - a medium/large wire - been using it for years : )

I am eye balling that S400 broken headstock project Mark is doing there back of the row. Note now there is no finish on the neck. I bet it will be better than factory when done.

Mark I call 1st dibs if you ever decide to sell it.

Mark, please post some pics when the S400 is finished. Many of us are very interested in seeing it.

Right - before removing the original peghead veneer, I removed and saved the original pearl inlay and re-installed it after applying the new veneer. Also, the original finish on the neck had this really weird peeling thing going on, so I decided to just strip the entire neck for re-finishing -
