    lovely guitar..and good write up




    always loved the german carve...roger rossmeisl is an unheralded guitar design great..brought that style stateside...worked for rickenbacker and fender...influenced semie moseley/mosrite

    Production Rickenbackers used a degraded semi-German carve as opposed to a full German carve. No need for the real thing, since they didn't make any production acoustic archtops. Semie Moseley picked up a lot of design cues for his own instruments from his time working at Rickenbacker. I think the look works better on a tele when it's done well as a full German carve, as opposed to a semi-German carve, or even a Semie-German carve, heh.

    Abe Rivera's solidbodies also seem influenced by the German recurve. Also, I saw a mention on the Internet that Abe recently died from COVID-19.
