Production Rickenbackers used a degraded semi-German carve as opposed to a full German carve. No need for the real thing, since they didn't make any production acoustic archtops. Semie Moseley picked up a lot of design cues for his own instruments from his time working at Rickenbacker. I think the look works better on a tele when it's done well as a full German carve, as opposed to a semi-German carve, or even a Semie-German carve, heh.

You also need to take account for the nut width when looking at above specs. 1&11/16” vs 1& 5/8” nut width makes a huge difference on how much larger the same shape can feel.
