Decided to take a pic of the family with the new addition.
I've played a few D'As over the years and they all have their individual characteristics. The one thing that struck me immediately was the heft of the one piece neck. I absolutely love it.
Mark carved a one piece neck for me on the Campy about eight years ago and the one on the New Yorker brought back some nice memories (so kudos to you, Mark!)
All in all a happy person today and finally an owner of a D'A from Kenmare St.
Best wishes to everyone on the site and here's to a better year in '21.
    Chris

Sure, I'll make sure she has her bra on first, then I'll send some pics of the DA.

Thanks for the clarification. If you mentioned something about the corrosion on her tuning pegs I would be confused.

My dream acoustic. I'm glad it's on such good hands. A very Merry Christmas, indeed! Congratulations, and play it in good health!

Welcome to the DA club Chris!

There are a few of us on this forum who are lucky enough to be caretakers of John D'Angelico's guitars, the finest archtop guitars of all time.

May she inspire your playing for many years to come.

Thanks, SS. I am grateful, for sure.
Strange how these things work: for the last couple of days I've been playing some Al Valenti stuff on it (Carcassi's Opus) and some Bucky Pizzarelli - that great album he did a few years back, covering Eddie Lang and Carl Kress numbers. Seems to fit.

But there's lots of great jazz boxes out there and ultimately it's in our hands, soul, and imagination.

Have an enjoyable Xmas and NYE!!

Beautiful. I really prefer that headstock over the scrolly one.

    Teleman,
My God your New Yorker is beautiful.
From the picture you posted, it looks like a new, modern guitar. These masterpieces should be cherished. Played, yes - but after they are played they should be taken care of. Because they really are not just guitars. They are a piece of history. They haven’t happened ever again since 1963 and never will happen again.
Wow, that is a spectacular guitar.
    Thank you for sharing.

That's what you see from the top of the mountain.

Congrats. There's different, but none better.
