Hello everybody,
My neighbour brought me this guitar to be fixed, but I can't get any information about it. Can anyone help? Where, when does it come from?
Thanks

Hi Rupert
In my opinion it is from Germany : zero fret, fingerboard inlays, end of the fingerboard, tuners...
looks like those guitars imported in UK and sold under different names.

Hallo Ruppert, I guess it comes from old GDR. The missing highest frets are typical.

OK, thank you. Any idea when it could have been made?

It looks like it was made in the 1930s, between @1935 and 1938.
I would guess it was made in Schonbach, which was in Bohemia (now the Czech Republic), most likely in the Hofner workshop.

Ok, Thank you.
How did you identify that?
Do you think it's worth much?
-
Long answer to come later...
No, it's not worth a lot of money, but it might be an excellent guitar.
Its value is also related to location - where are you?
