Totally agree with John A. That GK combo + Boss Deluxe Reverb pedal would be just perfect.

However, I'll bet your son is going to absolutely love the Vibrolux!

It’ll just sit in his band room most of the time. In high school they may have a dozen or so performances throughout the year. Most is classroom rehearsal. He will probably want to lug it home on weekends though. Luckily they have a very secure arrangement at his school. He can always use his GK at home or slum with my Marshall.

Sure. I keep amps stashed around for gigs so I don't have to schlep.

But at 18 we were all eager. A mid-size Fender is no big deal at 18...unless you're on the subway.
